Does the sound of Volare make you swoon? Can Bocelli's version of Con Te Partiro bring you to tears? Does the “Jamme, Jamme” refrain from “Funiculi, Funicula” lift your spirits? Come and join our fun “Singing in Italian’ group at the WEA. We are a friendly group led by experienced pianist and choral director Deen Coulson. No knowledge of the Italian language is needed because a couple of Italian speaking members assist with learning the diction as well as the melody for each song as Deen does not speak Italian. The core group is generous in sharing skills, a real collaborative effort in which we welcome your suggestions for other songs to sing as long as you can source the music.
We are relaxed in our approach and none of us have operatic backgrounds, so all you need is a willingness to "have-a-go" and let your heart be transported to Italy for an hour.
