This course is about enjoying and exploring the art of printmaking. Beginner and experienced people are all welcome. We will start by visiting the Christchurch Art Gallery to view a variety of works to give us ideas about themes and printmaking techniques. We will then explore various forms of printmaking, especially relief printing, eg: Lino, wood, cardboard, polystyrene prints, plus monoprints, stencilling etc. with a theme of people and places. Please bring photos of a person and places you may like as a setting for prints. Wear/bring an old shirt, printing can be messy. We will provide some inks, plates/blocks, tools, paper, materials and the use of a press. (the cost is included). Diane was formerly an HoD in Art and Art History and an Education Officer at the Christchurch Art Gallery where she still guides and occasionally teaches. She enjoys making stuff.
