INVESTIGATING PATTERNS USING MATHS

Starts 18th July, fortnightly on a Thursday, 12.30-2pm

Description

This course is based on the idea that participants get to understand more about how people learn (including ourselves) by chatting with each other and being curious together - that is, collectively. In this case, the questions we become curious about and investigate lead us to understanding some of the problem solving tools used and developed by mathematicians. You do not need to be good at maths. This series of workshops might appeal to you if you used to like maths and then lost interest, or have only just discovered an interest in expanding your thinking. This is not a course in arithmetic or calculus or statistics: it is a course in using mathematical ways of thinking (logically, and critically, and collectively).
