FROM MEMORIES TO MANUSCRIPT: A JOURNEY IN MEMOIR WRITING

Friday 9 and 16 August break for writing time, then 30 August and 6 September. From 12.30-2.30pm

Description

In these memoir writing workshops, you’ll journey back through the chapters of your life and explore the richness of your memories. Whether you've been writing for years or are just now picking up the pen, the workshops provide expert guidance, friendly conversation, and plenty of encouragement to help you shape your life experiences into captivating stories. Let's embark on this reflective adventure together and begin to preserve the legacy of your lifetime for future generations. There is a deliberate break after the first two sessions for some work on your memoirs before we reconvene. Please bring either a laptop or a ring binder and block of paper (not a notebook as we want to be able to switch pages around).

Your tutor will be Dr Rie Natalenko. She has a doctorate in Creative Arts (screenwriting), and has won awards for fiction, poetry and screenwriting. She is also a passionate textile artisan. She has taught all her life in schools, college, university, and in the community, and has written books on running craft workshops (Share your Skills) and family history (The Family Memory Project and The Family Message Book).
